Vaccine and treatment available

This virus has been known to affect a community for decades and there are vaccines and treatments available.

Because the monkeypox virus is very similar to the virus that causes smallpox, the smallpox vaccine has also been shown to be effective for both diseases.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states on its website that no specific treatment is currently available for monkeypox infection, but its spread can be controlled with medication.

There are already drugs in the market that are already approved for use in monkeypox and have been effective against the disease. For example, cidofovir, ST-246 and vaccinia immunoglobulin are used in the infection of monkeypox.

A multi-nationally approved vaccine, JYNNEOSTM, also known as Imvaimmune or Imvanex, is available for the prevention and treatment of monkeypox. This vaccine is made by Danish pharmaceutical company Bavarian Nordic.

Previous data on its use in Africa show that it is 85% effective in preventing monkeypox.

In 1958, it was first identified in monkeys, on which it was named monkeypox.

Monkeypox, a disease that has been common among African people for decades but is now spreading to other countries of the world. Especially cases are being reported in America, Canada and many European countries. So far 80 cases have been found in 11 countries.

Although the outbreak of this disease is not very widespread, but new cases in some countries have definitely created concern among the people.

Health officials say that once again there is not much information about what is the reason for the spread of the virus, they say that at present there is nothing for the general public to panic.

"It is important to emphasize that monkeypox does not spread easily between people and the risk to the general public is very low," said Nick Finn, deputy director of the National Infection Service at the UK Office of Public Health.

Monkeypox was initially found in 1958, when two outbreaks of a pox-like disease occurred in study colonies of monkeys, thus the name. During a period of increased effort to eradicate smallpox, the first human case of monkeypox was discovered in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1970. Human cases of monkeypox have been documented in several Central and Western African nations since then.

This time it is a disease produced in africa, which has been spreading worldwide due to its high level of contagion, since it can be easily transmitted to humans and thus be dangerously .

All I know is that it originated in Africa. I hope it is not like the 'Ebola' virus that happened many years ago. In this modern world, there is always a possibility for the cureness.

Monkeypox is a rare viral infection that is similar to smallpox. It is found mainly in parts of Africa, and is typically spread by contact with animals or with infected humans. Symptoms of monkeypox can include fever, headache, muscle aches, and a rash. In some cases, the infection can be fatal. Treatment for monkeypox is typically supportive, and there is no specific vaccine available.
