Tuor is a main character in J.R.R. Tolkien's book, The Silmarillion. He is a member of the race of Men and plays a key role in the story as he is chosen by Ulmo, one of the Valar, to be the messenger of the Valar to the Elves and Men of Middle-earth. Tuor eventually becomes the father of EƤrendil, who sails to Valinor and pleads with the Valar to intervene in the War of the Jewels.
