An electromagnet is a type of magnet in which the magnetic field is produced by an electric current. It consists of a coil of wire which acts as a magnet when an electric current passes through it. The magnetic field disappears when the current is turned off.

An electro magnet is a temporary magnet made by winding wire around an iron core. When current flows in the coil the iron becomes a magnet, and when the current is turned off it looses it's magnetic properties.
