The official residence of the President of South Korea until 2022 was the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae), located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. It was named after its blue-tiled roofs, and it has been the residence of the South Korean president since 1953, shortly after the end of the Korean War. It also serves as the main office for the President's staff and advisors. From 2022, the new Presidential Palace will serve as the official residence of the President of South Korea.
