The sloth is a mammal that doesn't have vocal cords. Instead, it communicates through a series of high-pitched screams, moans, and clicks. These sounds are produced by the air passing over the vocal cords and resonating in the sloth's throat. Despite not having vocal cords, sloths are still able to effectively communicate with each other and exhibit a wide range of vocalizations for various purposes including mating calls, territorial warning, and distress signals.
