The U.S. president who put a Twinkie in the country's millennium time capsule was Bill Clinton

In 1999, as part of the nation's millennium celebration, a time capsule was created to be opened in 2100. Clinton placed a variety of items in the time capsule, including a copy of the Declaration of Independence, a piece of the Berlin Wall, and a Twinkie, which he reportedly chose to represent American culture and technology.

The time capsule is currently stored at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
