Some animals have the ability to regrow lost limbs through a process called regeneration. One example of an animal that can regenerate its limbs is the axolotl, a type of salamander. If an axolotl loses a limb, it can grow a new one in a matter of weeks. This is possible because axolotls have cells specialized for regeneration that can quickly divide andotl, also known as the Mexican salamander. Axolotls are capable of regenerating not only their limbs but also their spinal cord, heart, and other organs. When an axolotl loses a limb, cells near the injury site multiply and form a structure called a blastema. This blastema contains all the information necessary to regrow the lost limb. Over time, the blastema develops into the missing limb, complete with bone, muscle, nerve, and blood vessel tissues. The regeneration process can take several weeks to several months depending on the size of the lost limb.
