The nut in the middle of a Ferrero Rocher is a hazelnut. The nut is covered in a layer of chocolate and is surrounded by a wafer shell, which is then covered in chocolate and chopped hazelnuts. The popular chocolate treat was created in 1982 by Italian confectionery company Ferrero.

The nut in the middle of a Ferrero Rocher is a whole hazelnut that has been roasted to enhance its flavor. It is surrounded by a creamy filling made of chocolate and hazelnut cream, and then coated with a light, crispy wafer shell and chocolate.
