Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett co-founded the rock band Pink Floyd in 1965. Syd Barrett was a key member of the band during its early years and played a significant role in shaping their sound and image. He contributed as a guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter for Pink Floyd's debut album, "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn," released in 1967. However, due to mental health issues and his increasing detachment from reality, Barrett left the band in 1968, and Pink Floyd continued with new members and went on to achieve great success in the years that followed.
