In 1965, astronauts on the Gemini 6 mission played "Jingle Bells" on a harmonica and a set of bells. They surprised Mission Control by including the song in a transmission, saying, "We have an object, looks like a satellite going from north to south, probably in polar orbit... I see a command module and eight smaller modules in formation. The pilot of the command module is wearing a red suit." They then played "Jingle Bells," making it the first music played in space.
