The Nafud Desert, also known as the An-Nafud, is located in the northern part of Saudi Arabia. It is one of the largest sand deserts in the world, covering an area of approximately 65,000 square kilometers. The Nafud Desert is characterized by high sand dunes, rocks, and gravel as well as occasional oases. The climate in the Nafud Desert is harsh and hot, with temperatures sometimes reaching up to 50°C during the day and dropping to near-freezing at night. Despite its harsh conditions, the Nafud Desert is home to various nomadic tribes and several endangered animal and plant species.
