Native American leaders Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull were both from South Dakota. Crazy Horse was a Lakota leader who fought against the US government in the Great Sioux War of 1876. Sitting Bull was a Hunkpapa Lakota leader who also fought against the US government and is known for leading the victory at the Battle of Little Bighorn.
