The cotton-top tamarin is a species of primate. It is a small New World monkey found in the forests of northwestern Colombia. The cotton-top tamarin is known for its distinctive appearance, with a long white crest of hair on its head, hence the name "cotton-top." They are highly social animals and live in family groups, feeding primarily on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. Due to habitat loss and illegal pet trade, the cotton-top tamarin is considered critically endangered. Efforts are being made to conserve and protect this species in its natural habitat.
