Fish rely on their sense of smell the least, as other senses such as sight, hearing and touch are more important for their survival. Smell is important for detecting food and detecting potential predators, but fish have evolved to rely on other senses as well. Some fish, such as catfish and sharks, do have an acute sense of smell and use it for various purposes.

Fish rely on their sense of smell the least out of their five senses. While they do have a sense of smell, it is not as developed as their other senses. Fish rely on their senses of sight, hearing, taste, and touch more heavily than they do on their sense of smell.
