The quokka's diet mainly consists of leaves, bark, grasses, stems, and roots. They also eat seeds, bulbs, rhizomes and fungi, and occasionally insects.

Quokkas are herbivores and their diet consists mainly of grasses, leaves, bark, and stems. They also eat some succulent plants and fruits. Because of their ability to survive on very little water, they can get much of their moisture from the plants they eat, although they will drink water if it is available.
