A GPS (Global Positioning System) system works by using a network of satellites to transmit signals to a GPS receiver. The receiver calculates the distance between the satellites and uses that information to determine its location on Earth. The system can provide accurate information about speed, direction, and location in real-time.

A GPS (Global Positioning System) works by using a network of satellites in orbit around the Earth. A GPS receiver on the ground or in a device such as a smartphone receives signals from multiple GPS satellites and uses the timing of those signals to calculate its own position on the Earth's surface, as well as its speed and direction of travel. The GPS receiver must have a clear line of sight to at least four satellites to accurately determine its position.
