The currency used in the European Union is the Euro (€).

The Euro is the official currency used by 19 member countries of the European Union (EU), including Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. The Euro was introduced on January 1, 1999, and replaced many of the currencies previously used in the member countries. The Euro is used by more than 330 million people worldwide and is the second most traded currency after the US dollar.
