Tasmanian devils are primarily ground-dwelling animals and are not known for their climbing abilities. They are adapted for a terrestrial lifestyle and are more likely to be found on the ground, where they hunt, scavenge, and seek shelter in burrows.
While they are not designed for climbing trees, Tasmanian devils are known to be agile and capable of navigating various types of terrain. They use their strong limbs and sharp claws for activities like digging burrows and foraging for food on the ground. Their sturdy build is more suited to terrestrial locomotion and scavenging, rather than climbing trees.
In contrast to some other marsupials like koalas and tree kangaroos, which have specialized adaptations for arboreal (tree-dwelling) lifestyles, Tasmanian devils are primarily terrestrial and prefer to stay at ground level.
