A kangaroo's pouch serves as a protective incubator for their young, called joeys. After giving birth, the mother kangaroo keeps her underdeveloped offspring in her pouch, where they continue to grow and develop in a safe environment, feeding on her milk until they're mature enough to survive outside the pouch.
