I think it is a turtle. When she hids its head and legs she realy becomes a living fortress. You have to wait until it will have to get some food. But as a  reptile she eats very rear.

I think you are right. Turtles have their own fortress when hiding inside their hard shells. It is a nice abode for it to protect itself against predators, too.

Reptiles are groups containing members that look very similar to Mesozoic forebears this include snakes, lizards, crocodiles, and turtles. Armored Dinosaurs built like living fortresses were slow and a loner because it was hard to hear.

It sounds so realistic with your descriptions. I am sure they do create a fortress in their own habitats like in the forest.

The armadillo is a type of reptile that is often referred to as a living fortress due to its hard, protective shell. The armadillo's shell is made up of bony plates that are covered in leathery skin. This shell helps to protect the armadillo from predators and other threats.

The "living fortress" is a nickname for the armadillo lizard (Ouroborus cataphractus), a species of lizard found in southern Africa. It is also known as the "armadillo girdled lizard" due to its ability to curl up into a ball, leaving predators with a tough, spiky exterior to contend with.

A living fortress is not a reptile. It is a mythological creature that is usually described as a large, powerful creature with thick armor and a fierce demeanor.

The term "living fortress" does not specifically refer to a particular kind of reptile. Instead, it seems to be a metaphorical phrase used to describe a reptile with defensive or protective characteristics. Reptiles that are commonly associated with strong defense mechanisms or fort-like features include:
