Fewer and fewer razors are being sold around the world, and shaving manufacturers blame the beard trend, which has not let up since the end of World War I. Beards have not been as popular as they used to be. From the mid-10s to the 60s, it never occurred to the vast majority of men in the U.S. and Europe to grow any facial hair. In the 60s there were hippies - and a beard was a sign of non-conformism (and in the USSR, too). In banks and large financial corporations, a beard was still not welcomed - a "white collar" had to be shaved smooth. Then in 2013, at the Oscars in March, it turned out that many Hollywood stars have long neglected shaving and aftershave lotion: the reason that beards became fashionable is not the fault of hipsters but of George Clooney, Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Hugh Jackman.
