Why Russia - Ukraine war not ending?

Russia is in War with Ukraine for more than twelve months. Why the war is not ending?

1. Russia and Ukraine share a long history, and many Russian and Ukrainians fell a strong attachment to their respective cultural identities.

2. Both Russian and Ukraine have strategic interest in the region, particularly with regard to access to port and natural resources.

Ongoing conflict ,geopolitical stress ,different interest and unsolved issues , lack of diplomatic problem solutions and military wars on both side arise the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Why hasn't the war between rusia & ukraine ended yet? There are several potential answers: (1) historically, the war in europe was not short; (2) disputes between neighbors are always fierce and vengeful, not easy to reconcile; (3) this war involved other countries that supported ukraine from the beginning; (4) this war involved rusia's defence strategy (ukraine clould be en entry point for attacks on rusia territory); and (5) this war concerns the honor of russian president which can only be reconciled if the ukrainian president surrenders, other countries stop their support for ukraine, and they stop the pressure on rusia.
