Marie Antoinette's husband was Louis XVI, King of France from 1774 to 1792. He was the last of the Bourbon kings of France and was overthrown during the French Revolution. Marie Antoinette was executed in 1793 for treason.
On 19 April the wedding took place by proxy in Vienna, marrying the Dauphin and future Louis XVI, the grandson of Louis XV, to Marie-Antoinette, the youngest daughter of Maria-Theresa of Habsburg.
