Tuor appears in the novel The Silmarillion by English author J. R. R. Tolkien.
The Silmarillion is a collection of mythopoeic works written by J. R. R. Tolkien. It is set in the fictional universe of Middle-earth and tells the story of the creation of the world and the history of the events leading up to the novels The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Tuor is a Man of the House of Hador who is chosen by the Vala Ulmo to be the messenger of the Valar to the Elves of Beleriand. He is an important character in the story, as his actions ultimately lead to the downfall of Morgoth and the salvation of Middle-earth.
