The bumblebee bat (Craseonycteris thonglongyai), commonly known as Kitti's hog-nosed bat, is the smallest mammal in the world. Its wingspan measures around 5.7 inches, yet it barely weighs 1.5 to 2 grammes. These tiny bats, which can be found in Thailand and Myanmar, are about the size of a big bumblebee, making them exceptionally tiny and fragile animals. They continue to be a fascinating topic for both academics and wildlife enthusiasts because of their small size and secretive nature.
