The highest waterfall in the world is Angel Falls (Salto Ángel) in Venezuela, which has a height of 979 meters (3,212 feet) and a plunge of 807 meters (2,648 feet). It is located in the Canaima National Park in the Gran Sabana region of Venezuela and is considered one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world. The falls were named after Jimmy Angel, an American aviator who was the first to fly over the falls in 1933.
