The name of the ship that rescued the Titanic passengers after several hours was the RMS Carpathia. The Carpathia was a Cunard Line passenger ship that was on its way from New York City to Fiume, Austria-Hungary (now Rijeka, Croatia), when it received the distress call from Titanic on the night of April 14, 1912. The Carpathia was able to reach the site of the disaster about 4 hours after Titanic had sunk and rescued over 700 survivors who had made it to lifeboats.
