Natural disasters are catastrophic events that are caused by natural phenomena such as hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, wildfires, landslides and volcanic eruptions. These disasters can cause widespread damage to property and infrastructure, and can often result in the loss of human life. Natural disasters can occur at any time, and some areas of the world are more susceptible to certain types of disasters than others. While we cannot prevent natural disasters from occurring, we can take steps to prepare, respond and recover from them.
