In 2020, Kamala Harris made history when she became the first woman, and the first person of color, to be elected Vice President of the United States. A former California Attorney General and U.S. Senator, Harris had a long and distinguished career in public service before running for Vice President. She and President Joe Biden made up the first all-Democratic ticket to win the White House since 1992. In addition to being Vice President, Harris also serves as President of the Senate, making her the first woman to hold that position as well.
