India has not had a woman president as of now. The presidents of India have all been men since the country's independence in 1947. However, India has had a woman serve as the Prime Minister. Indira Gandhi, daughter of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, served as the Prime Minister of India from 1966 to 1977 and again from 1980 until her assassination in 1984.
