Mirror of Erished according to Dumbledore is supposed to show you your deepest darkest desire and Harry's deepest desire was to have his parents back so that is what the mirror showed him, he by his parent's side.

According to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry saw himself in the Mirror of Erised, surrounded by his family and with a Hogwarts acceptance letter in his hand.

In the first book of the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" (or "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in the United States), Harry Potter sees his deceased parents, James and Lily Potter, standing together and smiling at him in the Mirror of Erised. The Mirror of Erised shows a person's deepest, most desperate desire or longing. For Harry, who was orphaned as a baby and grew up without his parents, seeing them alive and happy in the mirror was a profound and emotional experience.

In the first book "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," Harry saw his parents alive and together in the Mirror of Erised. He was deeply moved and wanted to stay in front of it to continue gazing into their eyes. Dumbledore later explained to him that the mirror shows the deepest, most desperate desire of a person's heart, and that it does not show reality, but rather what the person most yearns for to the exclusion of all else.
