The Gunpowder Plot's conspirators were English Catholics. They were led by Robert Catesby, who sought to overthrow the Protestant government of KingJames I, because he had not shown enough tolerance for Catholics in England.

The conspirators of the Gunpowder Plot were all Roman Catholics. The Gunpowder Plot was an attempt to assassinate King James I of England and replace him with a Catholic monarch.

The Gunpowder Plot's conspirators were Catholics, as they were unhappy about the persecution of Catholics by the Protestant monarchy of England in the early 17th century. They hoped that by assassinating the King and other Protestant leaders during the State Opening of Parliament on November 5, 1605, they could restore Catholic rule and end the persecution of their faith.
