Zeus appointed Paris, a mortal prince of Troy, to judge a beauty contest between Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena. The winner would receive a golden apple inscribed with the words "To the fairest." Each goddess attempted to bribe Paris, but ultimately he chose Aphrodite, who promised him the most beautiful woman in the world as a reward.

In Greek myths, the beauty contest between Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena was judged by Paris, the son of King Priam of Troy. Paris was chosen by Zeus to judge the contest, and ultimately chose Aphrodite as the fairest of the three goddesses. This decision resulted in the start of the Trojan War.
