Chares of Lindos is the sculpture of colossus of rhodes. The sculptor Chares of Lyndus (another city on the island) created the statue, which commemorated the raising of Demetrius I Poliorcetes' long siege (305 bce) of Rhodes. Made of bronze and reinforced with iron, it was weighted with stones.

The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek sun god Helios, created by the sculptor Chares of Lindos in the 3rd century BC. It was made of bronze and stood over 30 meters tall, making it one of the tallest statues of the ancient world. Unfortunately, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 226 BC, and only ruins remain today.
