Agni, the God of Fire in Vedic mythology, is equivalent to the Greek God Hephaestus, who was also associated with fire, metalworking and crafts. Both gods were considered skilled craftsmen, with Agni being responsible for purifying and transforming offerings made by humans to the gods. Hephaestus, on the other hand, was a blacksmith and craftsman who created weapons and armor for the gods and heroes.
