imageEver since the alleged murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the media has been up and about on the issue reporting almost on a daily basis. Although there's no definite evidence pointing to the actual killer of the journalist, the Turkish government has continued to accuse Saudi Arabia crown prince of being behind the killing. They went as far as stating that they have substancial evidence which supports their claims. Am still wondering why they haven't put out the evidence and put an end to the case since the Saudi crown prince continues to denies his involvement in the killing.

During the early days after the killing of the journalist, United States president, Donald Trump was quick to point fingers at the Saudi crown prince. But since he met with the crown prince days after the killings, his stand in the situation quickly changed to the point of defending the crown prince on the media.

The C.I.A on the other hand said they have seen the evidence Turkey claim to have and is quiet compelling. Then why are they still drawing back and not wanting to bring the culprit to law?

What do you think, do you think it's all politics?

The horrific murder of Jamal Khashoggi has many aspects to it including a sophisticated cover up. Saudi Arabian government views freedom of speech with disdain. There perspective on journalism is even worse. According to the press I have read Khashoggi reported on the misdeeds of the Crown Prince and the corrupt Saudi government over many years. Journalists' murders are common in the Middle East. Yet Khashoggi's murder was particularly gruesome. Crown Prince and his goons arranged for the murder in Turkey. He denies it yet the evidence is overwhelming against him. This was a revenge killing against Khashoggi for revealing the dark side of the Prince. In the aftermath the press has reported the body of Khashoggi was dismembered and scattered in a forest not far from the murder site. Trump has tread lightly, so far, on Saudi Arabia. He does not want to aggravate Saudi officials who he knows are involved in this horrific killing. Will anyone be brought to justice? I doubt it. Thank you for allowing me to comment.

I felt bad because his life ended so soon. Besides the point, it is not good to kill someone without any justice afterwards. I hope it would not happen to others.

In my opinion, this situation does have a political angle. It is likely that the US and Saudi Arabia have a vested interest in maintaining good relations, and so the US is being cautious in how it deals with the Khashoggi murder. However, I also believe that justice needs to be served, and that all evidence should be weighed and heard before any judgement is made.
