The meteor that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs struck in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico. It is believed that the impact of the meteor created a crater nearly 180 kilometers wide and 30 kilometers deep. The resulting dust cloud and climate change caused by the impact wiped out the majority of the dinosaurs, as well as other species.

The meteor that led to the extinction of dinosaurs did not strike any modern-day country, as it occurred more than 65 million years ago. However, evidence suggests it hit what is now the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. The impact left a crater known as the Chicxulub crater.
