Both male and female lions hunt for food in prides, but the females are usually more successful hunters due to their smaller size and greater speed and agility. They work together to take down prey and share the kill with the rest of the group. Lions are carnivores, meaning they only eat meat.

Both male and female lions hunt for food. However, it is usually the male lions that do the majority of the hunting. Male lions are larger and stronger than female lions, so they are better equipped to take down large prey. Female lions also hunt, but they usually hunt smaller prey.

Female lionesses primarily hunt, while male lions hunt on occasion. Females are the ones to hunt, the dominant male is the first to eat.

Female lions famously hunt their prey in packs, while male lions have typically been viewed as the lazy recipients of the spoils.

Lionesses hunt and kill prey to provide for their pride. There is even a pecking order within the pride, when the males are present. The males feed first, often allowing cubs to join or feed after the males have had their share and then females are often left over remains, even sometimes leaving them hungry.
