The scientific name for a grass plant is Poaceae. It is a large family of flowering plants, commonly known as grasses, which includes many species used for lawns, pastures, and cereal crops like wheat, rice, and corn.

Grass is a family of plants that includes many different species, so there is no single scientific name for all grasses. The scientific name for a specific species of grass depends on its genus and species. For example, the scientific name for Kentucky bluegrass is Poa pratensis, while the scientific name for tall fescue is Festuca arundinacea.
