Some common file systems used by operating systems are FAT32 and NTFS for Windows, HFS+ for macOS, and ext4 for Linux. These file systems determine how data is stored, organized and accessed on storage devices such as hard drives and USB drives. They also provide features such as file permissions, encryption, and journaling for data protection.

NTFS (new technology file system)- its a modern file system used by Windows. It supports features such as file and folder permissions, compression, and encryption.

APFS (apple file system) a file system used by macOS High Sierra and later versions.
