Markhors are a relatively large species of wild goat, and their size can vary somewhat depending on the specific subspecies and region. On average, they stand about 65 to 85 centimeters (26 to 33 inches) tall at the shoulder. The body length, excluding the tail, ranges from about 132 to 186 centimeters (52 to 73 inches). Markhor males (bucks) are generally larger than females (does). Bucks can weigh between 32 to 110 kilograms (71 to 243 pounds), while does are smaller and lighter, typically weighing between 25 to 65 kilograms (55 to 143 pounds). Their impressive spiral-shaped horns can add another 65 to 186 centimeters (26 to 73 inches) in length, depending on the individual.
