San Marino is a microstate in Europe, completely surrounded by Italy. This enclave covers a land area of just over 61 km² and has a population of around 33,000 people. San Marino is the third smallest country in Europe and the fifth smallest in the world. Its nearest airport is in Italy, and its capital city, the City of San Marino, is located atop Monte Titano, while its largest settlement is Dogana within the largest municipality of Serravalle. San Marino's official language is Italian.
