Emperor Jiajing ruled in China.

Emperor Jiajing was the 11th emperor of the Ming Dynasty and ruled China from 1521 to 1567. His reign was marked by a series of military campaigns against Mongol tribes and Central Asian powers. Jiajing also promoted the Neo-Confucianism philosophy and sponsored the construction of several important buildings, including the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. However, he was also known for his cruelty and obsession with Taoist alchemy, which led to the execution of many scholars and officials.
