Undertaking a full home renovation in California involves several steps and considerations. Here's a general guide to help you navigate the process:

1. **Define Your Goals:**

   - Clearly outline what you want to achieve with your home renovation. Identify specific areas or features you want to change or upgrade.

2. **Budgeting:**

   - Establish a realistic budget for the entire project. Consider factors such as construction costs, permits, design fees, and potential unforeseen expenses.

3. **Find a Contractor:**

   - Research and interview reputable contractors. Check their licenses, certifications, and past projects. Get multiple quotes to ensure competitive pricing.

4. **Design and Planning:**

   - Work with an architect or designer to create detailed plans for your renovation. This includes structural changes, electrical and plumbing layouts, and material specifications.

5. **Permits and Regulations:**

   - Obtain the necessary permits from local authorities. California has specific building codes and regulations that must be followed. Your contractor can assist in this process.

6. **Demolition and Construction:**

   - Once permits are secured, the demolition and construction phase begins. This involves tearing down existing structures and building new ones based on the approved plans.

7. **Material Selection:**

   - Choose materials and finishes for your home, keeping in mind your aesthetic preferences, durability, and budget constraints.

8. **Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:**

   - Consider incorporating energy-efficient and sustainable features into your renovation, such as solar panels, energy-efficient appliances, and eco-friendly building materials.

9. **Interior Design:**

   - Plan the interior design of your home, including color schemes, furniture, and decor. This step can be done in collaboration with an interior designer.

10. **Landscaping:**

    - If your renovation includes outdoor spaces, plan and execute landscaping to enhance the overall curb appeal of your home.

11. **Inspections:**

    - Schedule inspections at various stages of the construction process to ensure that the work complies with building codes and regulations.

12. **Final Touches:**

    - Complete the finishing touches, such as painting, installing fixtures, and cleaning up the construction site.

13. **Final Inspections and Approval:**

    - Once the construction is complete, schedule final inspections to obtain approval from local authorities.

14. **Move-In:**

    - Once you receive the necessary approvals, it's time to move back into your newly renovated home and enjoy the improvements.

Remember that every renovation project is unique, and it's essential to adapt these steps to your specific needs and circumstances. Additionally, working with experienced professionals, including architects, contractors, and interior designers, can streamline the process and ensure a successful outcome.

It depends on the project size, quality materials, labor costs, and complexity of the project. More complex projects that require structural changes will be more expensive.

This depends alaways on how much work of renovation is needed. If is a full renovation of the house, that is is in really bad condition then probably shoul be between $35.000 and $ 150.000. This only for the renovatin of the house itself without calculatin the forniture. Then also depends on which part of California is the house. Always is better to consult an expert in re-construction about this.
