Homemade ghee using butter

Ghee can be made by heating butter in a bowl. Take some unsalted butter in a bowl and heat it to a low flame. Butter melts and 5 minutes of heating will form a foam on the surface and some bits of light brown milk solid particles will be settled at the bottom. Skim the foam using a spoon and continue heating for 25 minutes. Now the ghee is ready in the form of a golden yellow color aromatic liquid. Strain the translucent liquid into a container leaving the caramelised sludge and let it cool. Ghee should be ready and bright yellow once it is cooled. This is the easiest homemade ghee recipe using butter. Enjoy the healthy and tasty ghee.

  2. Melting unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat is the first step in making ghee. Let it simmer until the milk solids settle and become golden brown, and the liquid clarifies. After that, strain the liquid through a cheesecloth to remove solids. Lastly, store the ghee in an airtight container at room temperature to preserve its rich, aromatic flavor.
