When the power goes out, your alarm system will move to battery power automatically. This gives you uninterrupted protection no matter what the weather or external situation is. ... By the same token, if you come home during a power outage, you still have to enter your code to disarm your security as normal.

If your system does use a landline, monitoring won't go out when the power goes out. But a landline connection can be cut by burglars -- though backup security measures usually alert monitoring services to such outages, and a cut phone line won't stop your alarms from sounding inside the house.

The alarm will go off, and then it will tell you how much power is left in the battery. It will tell you when to wake up and when to wake up.

Most of these modern alarm systems are made with back up battery which they switch to when power goes off. This back up battery power keeps it on until before power is back in the system

Most home security systems switch to backup battery power during a power outage. If the system usually relies on Wi-Fi, it may also switch to cellular backup during an outage. Some brands only offer cellular backup in their premium plans, so be sure to double-check a system's capabilities before you buy.
