Based on crime statistics, Edison is significantly safer than Newark. Public data consistently shows that Edison has much lower rates for both violent and property crimes. The contrast is quite clear, as Newark is a dense urban city with complex public safety challenges, while Edison is a large suburban township with a dramatically lower crime profile.
