People probably first started to look at their reflections in the water. The first mirrors used by people were water collected in a vessel. After that in 1835 German chemist, Justus von Liebig develops a process for applying a thin layer of metallic silver to one side of a pane of clear glass and thus silvered glass mirrors were invented.
