When the laptop fan stops working then the CPU is in trouble. The CPU or Central Processing Unit is the brain of the laptop and is responsible for its task processing. In order to keep it cool, a fan is needed to blow cool air in and blow warm air out of the laptop. The earliest sign of the CPU overheating would be episodes of freezing and sometimes spontaneous shutdowns. It's best to have it looked at as soon as possible because the overheating can damage some components of the motherboard eventually.

This message usually appears when your laptop's fan isn't working properly, leaving your machine vulnerable to overheating. In most cases, your laptop shuts down shortly after alerting you to your cooling problem, effectively putting an end to your ability to keep using it.

If your laptop fan stops working, it could cause your laptop to overheat and potentially damage the internal components. This could lead to decreased performance or even complete failure of the laptop. To prevent this from happening, it is important to make sure your laptop is properly ventilated, and to have it serviced if you notice any signs of a failing fan.

If your laptop fans are broken or not functioning at all, they could lead to problems like overheating and shutdown. Furthermore, your laptop may thermally throttle which will degrade its performance and shorten its lifespan. Issues in fans arise due to reasons such as dust and dirt build-up.8
