Do you think that taking dowry from wife family is a good custom ?

I hate people who ask dowry and leaves them after getting gold and money. They didn't have the liability to take care after getting all this. I hate the dowry system and the people who follow this custom. .A man should work and find money to look after his family. Instead there are some men who didn't go for job because they are planning to live with that money without looking after the original owner of the money. They are thinking of them self only . i feel ashamed of such man who says we are man who didnt talk to women and didnt look after the women and kid and didn't go for job without any responsibility. Some people are living only to get money from others to live.

No its not a good custom but it can give a sense of security to the woman as she will have some financial assets. No I won't give more to my kid.

The security is the man not to go for any more work and live with that money. Put all troubles in wife head. You have to see other people , who still work in 60s and looking their family and making for retirement, grand kids etc.

It's very bad many women torcher just for dowry. If there parents not give dowry on there married   women face many problems by our In laws so I think it's worst system.

Dowry System is a Payment paid by the Bride's Family to the Groom or his family to the time of marriage. It is not a Good Custom. Disputes related to Dowry System sometimes result in violence against Women, including Killing and Acid attacks.

No it's a bad system dowery is the indirectly harassment of of wife family and it is also a unlawful act but it's very common these days we have responsibilities to take a step against it.

I hate people who marry for money and wealth.  I was against dowry system both in giving and accepting. Both should be punished. Some people are only get married for such wealth and to live without doing any work and living with someone's money. I feel ashamed for such men. It's not good.

It wasn't necessarily a traditional always. People used to give gifts and money to their daughters when they were wedded because the daughter is given away in a marraige, so they gifted her with everything they wanted to.

But as time passed, people started making it a tradition! Now, middle class families have to sell their houses to get their daughters married! 

It's so wrong! They are the ones indirectly losing the child they raised with so much of love and care throughout these years and yet they need to give dowry too!
